Is there a Toxic Waste Site near your school or home? Check it out by going to www.epa.gov/superfund What might happen to dragonflies in wetlands around toxic waste sites? Send letters to your local government leaders to tell them about the toxic waste site in your community and ask them to help protect dragon flies.

Write a report answering the question:
"Why are dragonflies important to the balance of nature?" You can find information through The British Dragonfly Society www.dragonflysoc.org.uk/ If dragonflies are disappearing, how does this affect children or children's health? Send the report to Kids for Saving Earth kseww@aol.com and The EPA Children's Health Office. www.epa.gov/children/comments.htm

Draw pictures of dragonflies. Send them to corporations that aren't "cleaning up their toxic waste act." Tell them that insects are important to the balance of nature, then tell them why.
